A unique plan of care for your spinal cord rehab
Every patient with a spinal cord injury has unique physical, cognitive, psychological, social, and work-related levels of functioning. That’s why we never take a one-size-fits-all approach: We design individual plans of care for every patient, tailored to their needs.
Because spinal cord injuries can have complex effects on your body, we work to understand your current lifestyle, relationships, and home environment, to determine how your injury might impact your ability to move, breathe, maintain bowel or bladder control, and function sexually.
Inpatient rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries may combine hands-on care, virtual reality, and other advanced technologies, including:
Adaptive equipment training for daily living activities
Use of adaptive technologies (such as virtual reality) to improve aerobic function, balance, pain level, and motor-function recovery
Interactive technology for physical and cognitive endurance
Orthotic and prosthetic services for spine stabilization
Bladder and bowel management
Spasticity management
What to expect
Before your transition to Reunion, we work directly with acute-care discharge planners to streamline the admissions process for you.
When you arrive, we’ll map out your treatment based on your unique needs, taking into consideration the level of your spinal cord injury (neck, back, or lower back) and the injury’s severity (partial or complete). We’ll work with you and your support system daily to meet your goals and achieve lasting outcomes.
